Town Square

Our beautiful Town Square is at the heart of Millpond. Here you’ll find beautiful picnic spots, an ice cream vendor and a band stand, amongst many other things. There’s always something happening at this picturesque spot. Why not hop on the trolley and take the scenic circular tour around Millpond’s historic centre? Or discover some of Millpond’s finest amenities, like the cinema, the Town Hall, the library, or one of the many cafés and ice cream shops located around the square?

If you’re here during the festive season, you’ll be overjoyed to see Town Square transformed into something out of a Hollywood movie. We pull out all the stops when it comes to celebrating our favourite holidays!

Musket Square

The oldest part of Millpond. Dating all the way back to the mid-1650s, historic Musket Square makes Millpond one of the oldest towns in the US.

Take a tour through time and witness the well-preserved gallows, where the infamous witch trials took place in the late 1600s, view the savage guillotine once used to execute the most feared criminals, and explore the ruins of Millpond’s oldest church, still standing in solemn silence.

With its rich and often harrowing past, Musket Square offers visitors an unforgettable experience. Don’t miss the Musket Museum; a one-of-a-kind attraction that brings Millpond’s dark legacy to life.

Garrick Park

A local favourite, Garrick Park sparkled when it opened during the 1980s, and still twinkles with fun and joy today. It’s a beautiful spot to unwind at the weekend, or take the dog for a walk. During the summer months, feel free to take a picnic or rest in the dappled shade for a nap.

And if it gets too hot, why not cool down in our large outdoor pool? Equipped with fully trained lifeguards, Garrick Park Pool is a safe place to take the kids and have a splash.

Our on-site games complex offers a multitude of entertainment, including a bowling alley, mini golf, ping pong tables and a fully equipped gym, to help you build those muscles for a happier, healthier lifestyle.

Carnival Square

Carnival Square is one of the oldest and most vibrant parts of Millpond, rich with history and community spirit. The pop-up market sets up every weekend, offering local goods, food and handmade crafts. Come December, the square transforms into a festive wonderland with special events throughout the Christmas season.

If your visit falls around the July 4th celebrations, then you’re in for a treat. Every year, Carnival Square hosts Millpond’s ultimate summer carnival - a tradition that dates back over a hundred years, when it first began as a travelling circus. Come Halloween, don’t miss the world-famous Dead Parade - a spine-tingling spectacle that begins in Carnival Square and winds its way to Town Square. Afterwards, stick around for the open-air cinema, which screens classic horror flicks and other lesser-known gems.

Charleston

Step into the elegance and charm of Charleston, one of Millpond’s most historic and prestigious neighbourhoods. Once home to the town’s most influential families - including the prominent Archingolds - Charleston boasts a rich legacy of grandeur and tradition.

Wander streets lined with beautiful heritage homes and imagine the days of moonlit soireés, elegant dinner parties, and the famed masked balls hosted by the Mayor himself back in the 1800s.

With its blend of timeless architecture and high society history, Charleston remains a proud symbol of Millpond’s prosperous past. So, whether you’re here for a scenic stroll or a taste of luxury living, Charleston invites you to experience a place where legacy meets refinement.

Plymouth

Welcome to Plymouth, one of Millpond’s thriving business districts, where history meets modern-day energy. Here you’ll find a vibrant mix of shops, bars, restaurants, offices and even our very own hospital, all surrounded by the district’s charming southern residential side.

Whether you’re in town for business or just looking to enjoy a more refined evening out, Plymouth offers plenty to explore. Just a short walk from the Town Square, why not enjoy a spot of shopping in one of Plymouth’s local boutiques, or unwind with a well-earned cocktail in one of the area’s high-class bars?

Staying the night? Don’t miss a stay at The Loomis Hotel on Fickle Street, one of Millpond’s oldest and most prestigious accommodations. Rich in history and style, it’s the perfect place to unwind. But fair warning: guests have shared tales of ghostly encounters, claiming the hotel is home to over a dozen restless spirits.

So the question is, will you be lucky enough to spot one?

Flatlands

Home to Millpond High School and some of our world-famous waterfront restaurants and bars. Flatlands is a vibrant area and perfectly connects to Anchorvale and Millpond South via charming walk-bridges, each offering picture-perfect moments over the peaceful rush of Little Milly River.

Perfect for active explorers or those who enjoy a refreshing jog along the waterfront. And why not capture the moment with a postcard-worthy photo (or three)?

Cedargrove

This charming neighbourhood is at the heart of Millpond’s suburban soul: safe, welcoming, and full of life. From the quiet hum of summer mornings to the bombastic decorations of Fall to the sparkle of lights at Christmas. Cedargrove offers that classic small-town American warmth, with a generous helping of cosiness.

Home to a proud, vibrant and diverse community, welcoming folk from all walks of life, Cedargrove is a quiet and safe neighbourhood, but one that really knows how to celebrate. Look no further than Creedence Street, with its spectacular  - and famous - seasonal decorations. No one does community celebrations quite like the people of Cedargrove!

Whether you’re just passing through or thinking of staying a while, Cedargrove welcomes you with open arms - and maybe a slice of pie!

Hallow Hill

One of Millpond’s oldest and most storied regions, Hallow Hill is a must-visit for history lovers and folklore fans alike. Take a stroll down Cemetery Drive, where some of the town’s earliest homes still stand, their porches shaded by towering old-growth trees.

On a crisp and misty Fall morning, this quiet, tree-lined road becomes something truly magical as it's bathed in crunchy red leaves. The road leads to the well-preserved cemetery at the heart of Hallow Hill, where history rests beneath moss-covered stones and wrought iron gates.

But be warned, Hallow Hill is no ordinary neighbourhood. Known for its infamous local legends and chilling ghost stories, it’s said that nearly every corner holds a tale. From haunted statues to mysterious headstones, this historic district is filled with landmarks tied to tales of terror, passed down through the generations.

Layton

Tucked just beside the train station, Layton is one of Millpond’s quieter, more peaceful suburbs - which is perfect for those looking to enjoy a slower pace without losing connection to the heart of what makes this town so great.

Built in the late 1970s, Layton was designed with community in mind. With commuting made easy, thanks to the train station, the area is filled with families, professionals and long-time residents alike, offering a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a real sense of belonging.

Anchorvale

Once a bustling hub of post-war prosperity, Anchorvale is a neighbourhood with deep roots and a rich history. Built in the 1940s to house the families of factory workers and railway engineers, Anchorvale thrived through the ‘50s and ‘60s,  its streets alive with hard work, community pride, and the American dream.

While the decline of local manufacturing brought challenges in later decades, Anchorvale remains a proud part of Millpond’s legacy. Many longtime residents still call it home, and its strong sense of community endures to this day.

Anchorvale is a hidden gem for property investors and visionary developers. A few derelict buildings serve not as blight, but as blank canvases - ready to be reenvisioned, revitalised and redignified for a new generation.

Bloomsdale

Every town needs industry, and for Millpond, Bloomsdale is where it all began. This is thanks, in no small part, to the ambition of our founding family - the Archingolds - who not only provided hard-working families with stable employment through Archingold Ammunitions, but also played a pivotal role in American history.

Today, Bloomsdale offers a unique window into Millpond’s past - and a real opportunity for the future. With redevelopment efforts and historical preservation underway, it’s a place where industry gets an upgrade and new opportunities are always on the horizon.

Welden Woods

Encircling Millpond like a fortress is the vibrant, dense expanse of Welden Woods, as breathtaking as they are mysterious. Steeped in stories of the strange and mysterious, these ancient woods hold much of Millpond’s history and folklore.

Wander along the forest’s many waymarked trails, and you’ll be sure to discover an abundance of interesting sights. Or, for more adventurous visitors, explore the scenic backroads that wind through the steep hills to Three Sisters Point - the view is well worth the trek!

Whether you’re visiting during the lush, green summer months or the fiery colours of fall, Welden Woods is a spectacle of natural beauty. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, bubbling streams, and even artifacts left behind by the early 1700s settlers.

Please note: due to past incidents, Welden Woods follows a strict safety policy. Visitors are advised never to hike alone, and groups of at least three are required for all trail exploration. Come prepared, travel smart, and let Welden Woods show you the wilder side of Millpond.

Three Sisters

A real favourite among photographers, hikers and nature lovers, the Three Sisters offers some of the most breathtaking views in all of Millpond. These towering peaks rise above Welden Woods, providing sweeping vistas of the forest canopy and the town beyond - perfect for catching that golden hour sunset or sunrise.

Located along Viewpoint Road is Millpond Sounds - the town's very own radio station. Broadcasting a mix of music, local news and community talk shows.

On the western side of the Three Sisters lies the sparkling beauty of Pearl Lake, a hot spot destination when the summer months roll into town. Surrounded by dense forest and mountain vistas, Pearl Lake is the perfect place to relax, swim or soak in the views.

Follow the winding lakeside road, and you’ll arrive at Camp Welden, a site cherished by the children of Millpond since the 1960s. Filled with adventure and laughter, Camp Welden offers crafts, archery, watersports and dozens of other activities - not to mention s’mores and stories around the campfire of a star-filled evening!

Millpond South

Enjoy the delights of the North Atlantic by cruising along Flanagan Way in Millpond South - a unique, winding coastal route that hugs the rugged southern cliffs. You’ll also find a dense collection of pine trees making up the beautiful forest, stretching for miles further south. Within this forest is the once classic, and well-visited remnants of Smileland - Millponds' very own theme park. Although abandoned since 2004, it still gives visitors and daredevils a thrill-seeking adventure when wandering it’s ghostly paths.

And if your journey has brought you from afar, why not take a break and stop off at Flanagan’s for a bite to eat along the way? There’s little better than a bowl of steaming hot clam chowder on a cold, windswept day!
