Spring
Millpond in the spring, what a vibrant and joyful experience. When Little Milly River surges with meltwater, when Welden Woods comes back to life for another year, and when sunshine finally breaches through the clouds once again. The locals emerge again with new energy, filling the streets with markets, fairs and small town gatherings. We recommend: A stroll down Waterfront Way to take in the crisp spring breeze before a nice seasonal meal at Lobster Hut.
Summer
There’s nowhere quite like Millpond come summertime. Little Milly River sparkles in the summer sun, the scent of grilled corn and woodsmoke fills the air as the locals bring out their grills and congregate in backyards. Time slows down in the summer in Millpond, and the atmosphere is nothing short of meditative. With Camp Welden open again, the woods are filled with the laughter of children, while Carnival Square is filled with street parties, markets, and more!
We recommend: If you’re an early riser, you can catch the beautiful sun rise over at Lighthouse Point - one of the most photographed spots in all of Millpond. Or watch the sun set over Millpond from Viewpoint Road.
Fall
New England may be known the world over for its blazing autumn colours, but there’s something about Millpond in the fall that feels truly enchanted. Vivid reds, golds and oranges cover the sidewalks and transform the landscape as the air turns crisp and the nights draw in.
But fall is not just a season in Millpond, it’s a celebration. The residents stretch Halloween out for the entire month of October, culminating in a huge party that fills Creedence Street with masks and capes and all things ghoulish! We recommend: One of Millponds many ghost tours during the October festivities. Make sure to book soon as the slots fill up quick!
Winter
When winter rolls around, Millpond becomes a romantic, snow-covered wonderland. Every street corner looks like a vintage postcard, with a blanket of white over everything, illuminated by the golden glow of lanterns, Christmas decorations, and joy. Much like Halloween, Millpondians take this season seriously, with carols in Musket Square, fireside tales, and mulled cider aplenty.
Pearl Lake freezes over almost every winter, becoming an ice-rink for every child, and the surrounding woods become a hushed cathedral of snow-draped pines. In Millpond, winter isn’t endured, it’s embraced. We recommend: Head over to Pumpkin Pie Diner for Thanksgiving dinner - the food may not be just like momma used to make, but the atmosphere is second to none!
