Food & Drink

One reason alone to visit Millpond is its luxurious variety of food and drink options. From chef-driven restaurants to cozy neighbourhood favourites, Millpond’s food scene is as diverse as the town itself. You’ll find bold seafood flavours, plenty of family-friendly gastro pubs to American comforts like burgers and chips - there's something for all tastes and budgets. Whether you’re sipping craft beer in one of our welcoming bars, or sampling street food at a night market, or kicking back with a fresh coffee, you’ll see that Millpond is cooking up something special all year round!

Drakz Bar

Sleazy, dark and dingy. Drakz Bar is exactly where you end up when you’ve got shady business to conduct or you just want to brood under low light with a warm beer and your own bad decisions. No one’s quite sure when Drakz first opened, only that it’s been circulating through Millpond’s bloodstream for decades. It’s less a bar and more a permanent mood and feels like its own character of the town. The regulars favour bikes, beards, brass knuckles, and beer (in no particular order), and they’re not big on small talk. So pull up a stool if you dare, just don’t say we didn’t warn you!

Pumpkin Pie Diner

Built in 1944 and stubbornly refusing to change since, the Pumpkin Pie Diner has been holding court on Millpond’s Town Square for decades. Clad in classic, no-nonsense American Art Deco, it’s the kind of place where the coffee’s always on, the booths have heard too many secrets, and no one’s in a rush to leave. Famed for serving the best pies in town, the smoothest coffee this side of the county line, and desserts that have ruined more than a few good diets, the Pumpkin Pie Diner prides itself on being easygoing, family-friendly, and dangerously moreish.

Derry Café

Derry’s Café takes its baking seriously and everything else at a comfortable, unhurried pace. Fresh pastries, buns, cakes, and croissants are baked daily, the coffee is hot from open to close, and lingering is very much encouraged. Bring a book, steal a window seat, or simply watch Main Street drift by. Now armed with suspiciously fast Wi-Fi, Derry’s has become the unofficial headquarters for Millpond’s next generation of writers. Whether they’re working on their masterpiece or just pretending to, the coffee keeps flowing either way.

Lobster Hut

Lobster Hut doesn’t do subtle - it does tender, meaty, and unapologetically juicy. Perched proudly along Waterfront Way, this Millpond institution has been winning hearts, stomachs, and very questionable food comas for years, and frankly, it knows it. Yes, the lobster is the star of the show, but it’s far from a one-trick trap. The burger stacks are heroic, the fries are dangerously addictive, and the homemade hotdogs have been known to steal attention they technically didn’t come for. Working closely with local suppliers, Lobster Hut brings the best of Millpond straight to your plate.
