We've always believed the town has more stories than any one person could tell - and we'd like yours.

Whether you're an established horror writer or someone with a single unsettling idea you can't shake, we want to hear from you. Millpond is built on human creativity, and in an age when that's increasingly easy to overlook, we're committed to making sure it isn't.

Pitch us your idea - a title, an outline, characters, a date and a location using our map - and if it feels like it belongs in our world, we'll reach out. From there, we’ll work with you directly to shape it, write it, and get it published: either in our next anthology or right here on the site, shared across our social platforms and introduced to the Millpond community. Your name goes on it. That's not a small thing.

We're not looking for finished drafts. We're looking for the seed of something.

The rules are simple. Set your story anywhere within our 350-year history. Use existing characters or invent new ones. Pick a location from our map, or somewhere we haven't thought to look yet.

Our Mission

Millpond exists to support new and undiscovered writers.

The idea was born when three writers hit the same wall many creatives face: closed doors, fierce competition, and few opportunities for original voices to be heard and placed in the spotlight. Instead of waiting for permission, Millpond was created as a platform to publish bold, human horror stories on our own terms.

We have a simple mission:

  • Encourage original storytelling.

  • Give emerging writers a real platform.

  • Build a shared universe where creativity comes first.

We want the Millpond brand to flourish into huge, exciting new areas like books, podcasts, TV shows, films, audio dramas and more!
